CITY HAS TO GIVE ROBBINS WATER SUPPLYCity Must Do It Under the Laws of Sanitary DistrictBlue Island will supply water to the village of Robbins within the next two or three weeks an the result of court action brought by W. Otto Wielgorecki, village attorney.A hearing was held Saturday before Judge Thomas Taylor in County Court on a mandamus pit of the ViPage of Rot — t-c ,.in„v to compel Blue Island to give Robbins water. Judge Taylor stated that “Robbins was entitled to get j water from Blue Island under the provisions of the Sanitary District of Chicago act” and suggested that both municipalities g( t together on a buyer and seller basis. Otherwise he would have to issue a writ compelling Blue Island to give Robbing water which would be costly to the former municipality.City Attorney Roy Massena, who defended the action against Blue Island, on orders of the city council. cited cases of a similar nature, which had gone to the Supreme court and been decided in favor of the plain'iff and expressed his opinion that the village of Robbins was entitled to water and that Blue Island must furnish it. The council, on Monday nigh', instructed the water committee and the attorn v to get in touch with the officials of Robbins and draft a suitable water-purchasing contract.Robbins will pay the City of Blue Island the same rate for its water as do local consumers and it will he tapped in at 1.19th and Sacramento ave., from a 6 inch lead.
