The front door is secured by means of a Yale lock which must be opened by a key from the outside. The heavy plate glass had been broken and an attempt made to reach through and open the lock from the inside,but this did not work.Sheriff Nordman was called from Belleville Monday' and he reported that two other robberies had been committed that night and the theieves had been traveling south, so he believed that all three had been committed by the same person or persons. A store in Hubbell had been entered and among other articles, some Ingersol watches were stolen. The Horak filling station at Munden was broken into where some wrenches and a quart of oil were the only things found missing. Merle Rams-bottom who lives near Munden, noticed a car stop near his mail box about midnight and the occupants' were looking at something by means of a flashlight, after which they proceeded on southward. The next morning he found a box containing papers that had been taken from the store in Hubbell. Evidently the thieves thought the papers were of no value to them, but in their haste they overlooked a gold watch beneath. Mr. ‘ Ramsbottom notified the sheriff and a search revealed in a com field near by, the discarded boxes which had contained the Ingersol watches.
