Marion Fans Boreas MeetingDuring the winter the Marion Township Farm Bureau has been holding meetings at the different schools over the township, boiling in this way to get in closer touch with people and create a greater interest in the rura problems of today. The February meeting (an alt day affair) was held Saturday, the 24th, a* the Belle No. 3 and was well attended, The school children were alt there, it being a school dn The morning session was opened by the audience singing “Arner ioa/’ The school then sang '‘In diana. ’ Martin Kitch talked at some length on “Hog Raising/’ Adam Wolfe was on the program for a talk on “Community Life,” but instead read an article from the Christian Herald of Decern her 30. entitled “The Parent ” It was an excellent article, which showed the great responsibility, that, the parent has in placing the right environment about their children.The afternoon session was called to order at 1 o’clock. Song by the 9chool, followed by read ings. Florence Oberholtzer then gave a good talk on * ‘Poultry and Its Care.” The points brot out were: (a) pure stock, (b)good laying stock, (c) good care,, ami (d) thorough sanitation. The discussion was very interesting.There was a debate on: Unsolved, That our schools should be controlled by the County Uni system. Chairman, Geo. Kitch; speakers, affirmative. Decis ion, affirmative, 1; negative. 2We unanimously voted to wire our state senator to vote for the co operative marketing bill. The meeting adjourned to meet at the Funk School No. 2, March 30.The meeting was interspersed with readings by the students.
