Local Cub Scouts Earn AwardsThe following awards were received by the Scouts of Pack419 at the Blue and Gold Banquet Feb. 22:Danny Weber of Den 2 and Mike Bouchard, Jeff Henry and Mark Tinsey of Den 3 received the rank of Bobcat; Brendan Smith of Den 5 received the rank of Bear; Randy Haertl of Den 3 received the rank of Wolf and one gold arrow and one silver arrow; Mike Sayer and John Anderson, also of Den 3, as well as Jeff Nickel and David Swan, Den 4, and Milan Radovic, Den 6, received the rank of Wolf and were awarded one gold arrow.Tom Manzagol, Den 6, was given one gold arrow. One silver arrow went to Bob O’Farrell and Joey Wiedmeyer of Den 3, and Jeff Swenarton, also of Den 3, received two silver arrows.Robert Peterson of Den 5 received his two year pin; Mark Knickerbocker, also of Den 5, and Louis Johnson and Darren Sinead of Den 6 were given their one year pins.Webelos to receive awards were David Flory who was awarded Sportsman; Trent Kaufman-Seientist, Showman, Traveler, Sportsman; and Paul Tobias-Traveler, Outdoorsman, Sportsman, Forestry, Craftsman. Jeff Whitehead was inducted into the Webelos.Girl Scouts and their leaders of Troop 143, who served at the Banquet, were Gulie Quinn, Beth Weinhardt, Karen Delhey, Kim Henderson, Cheryl Hedding, Peg Crim, Cindy Siefert, Rene LaForge, Cindy Voightman, Cindy Malocca, Mrs. Crim and Mrs. Voightman.Cub Scout Pack 416 had their Blue and Gold banquet last Saturday at Houghton School. The Pack’s ’75 charter was presented by Stanley Rhodes for Saline Jaycees, sponsors.Awards were presented at the banquet: Robbie Moore-bear, gold arrow; Brian Getty-silver arrow; Brian Vertz-silver arrow; Rodney Haas-wolf, gold, silver arrows; Pat Carpentier-gold, silver arrow; Marty Nyrkannen-bear, gold, silver arrow; Bill Bonzyck-wolf; Marty Blaek-wolf; Herb Williams-wolf; Mark Craft-bear, silver arrow; Mark Long-2 silver arrows; Erik Smith-bear, gold, 2 silver arrows; Dean Gillespie-2 year pin, 2 silver arrows; Doug Judy-2 year pin; Jim Burnett-traveler, aquanaut, engineer; Brian Girbach, traveler; Terry Wilkerson-scholar, traveler; Mike Jankewiez-aquanaut, artist, engineer, forester, outdoorsman, traveler; Mark Babinski-arrow of light.Adult leaders receiving one-year service pins and thanks certificates were: Susan Rice, Mae Gillespie, Jackie Haekbarth, Ann Williams, Sherry Hutchins, Penny Getty, Martin Nyrkannen, Peggy and John Long, Susan Vergz, Carol Weinhardt, Bill Craft, Don Hutchins. Receiving thanks certificates for committee work were: Marella Ruedinger, Barbara Coudron, Carol Girbach, Fran Carpentier, Heather O’Connell, Clark Getty, Danny Hutchins. Receiving thanks certificates and 6-year service pins were: Pat Hutchins, John Weinhardt.The invocation was by Rev. Richard Campbell of First Presbyterian Church. Superlative entertainment was presented by Daryl and Kay Hurst of the Magic Company of Ann Arbor.
