SECOND PLACE AWARD -- Jim House, Tiskilwa, an employee at Josephson Son, Inc., route 1, Princeton, drove this mud spattered ‘‘Trail Boss’’ All Terrain Vehicle to a second place finish in the class C feature at Ponderosa Park, six miles north of Aledo. House was awarded a trophy for his feat. About 39 vehicles were in class C, with a host of entries in class A (7 to 10 h.p. engine), and class B (12 to 18 h.p. engine). The race course covered 1 1/2 miles over hill and dale on land and over an ice covered pond, although by late in the day a good portion of the ice had melted. Roger Josephson, Princeton, was also an entry in the classic feature, but encountered difficulty by sliding broadside into a tree at about 30 m.p.h. coming down a slope in the race course. Neither Roger nor his machine sustained injuries or damage. Josephson Son, Inc., are the local authorized dealer for the ‘‘Trail Boss”’ A.T.V. (Staff Photo).
