Illinois People Will Begin Con struction Work On Fifteen Bungalows. Mayor John G. Brown of Fox Lake, Jrl., who has been spending the winters in Mobile for the past three years, and who is now a guest at the Battle House, is a great booster for this city as a winter resort. More people from the state of Illinois have been in Mobile and vicinity this year than ever before. Mayor Brown Tuesday night estimated that at least 3,000 res idents of Chicago alone had been in the Mobile territory enjoying the mild climate or for the purpose of making investments during the past two months. Mayor Brown has purchased a tract of land in the Chicago Mobile Develop ment Company settlement on Fowl river and will begin work at once erecting bungalows for fifteen prom inent families of Fox Lake and other Illinois towns These people will come to Mobile county early in November, according to Mayor Brown, and will remain until about the middle of March. “With the deepening of the bar at the mouth of Fowl river there is going to be more territory opened up to landseekers and it will make possible a trip by launch from Chicago to Mo bile and to fine fishing grounds that exist in the southern end of the coun ty,” said he.
