OCONEE.It is not often we have more than we want in this life; but you may call me ynnkec if we have not had more water than we had any use for. The old Oco- ' nee river has been oil a considerable boom for two weeks—covered the entire swamp—but today it was fast retiring on its way to the Atlantic ocean. Now that we have had lots of rain and lots of wind maybe we will have some good weather for the farmers to catch up with their farms, for they are a long ways behind at this time; hut with plenty of fair weather and good deal of push they can catch up. it is presumable that such work us repairing fence, clearing the fields of shrubs and logs and other work that could be attended to while the ground was wet or even frozen, has all been rounded up except some timbered fields.The storm went over about a week ago. If the cold keeps the fruit blossoms back a little while longer we will sure have * crop of fruit, and \vont that be serene? Ye* just think of gathering 40 peaches that will iill a half bushel basket. The Chinese cling has dune it when the trees were not too full. The Yellow Globe and the Crawford Late are also hard to beat—from 40 to 00 to the half bushel, i We are glad to say that the grain in ! this section is doing well; the cold [ made it look a little sick.• Rev.
