JORDAN Sl'FKKRED FROM STORM.There was, perhaps, no one in the county who sustained a greater loss than Hro. Jordan. Besides the falling of timber, more than a thousand panels of fence were blown down, the tops of chimneys blown off, shelters blown down, trees blown up by the roots in and near the yard, and much other damage. His family was badly scattered, and several had a narrow escape. The neighbors, hearing of his misfortune were kind and considerate enough to go at once, Wednesday, and give him a lift in the way of a “working spell.” In all there were near 40 hands. Well done for them all, to lend a helping hand in time of need. On Friday several went buck to help again. Brother Jordan is truly grateful to them all. Thursday we called to see SisterMathis, who is clever to all and does not forget her pustor. We took dinner and spent some time with Brother Joe Mills and family, on the Peacock place. Phis was the lirst time we had enjoyed their hospitality, hut we hope it will not be the last. Miss Sallie May Barksdale, the teacher at Indian Hill, boards with them. Her school is about full. \Vc met also Prof W. II. Barksdule, who nas a large, nourishing school. Tin night, spent at the home of Brother Jordan, was really delightful. They .mvc learned the art of making you fee' Lee and easy. L.ri
