‘Preserve Museum/ Is Plea of Historic Aiken FoundationWhatever decision is made on the location of the county courthouse, members of Historic Aiken Foun-dation are in favor of preserving the Aiken County Museum and seeing that it be given a proper home.At a recent board meeting of the foundation, members voted “to take a stand in favor of preserving the museum and urging that it be giver, a proper home.”“Under the plan of remodeling the present courthouse,” President Jane Davis stated, “it has been said the old jail which houses the museum would be torn down. The museum is an historic addition to Aiken County and should be given adequate quarters by officials.”
