Brenda Hofer, a junior ele mentary education major at Ta bor College, spent one week in New York viewing Broadway theatrical productions as part of her January interterm drama course. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo C. Hofer, Hitchcock. Twenty students majoring in government at the University of South Dakota will be re warded for scholastic superior ity by initiation into Pi Sigma Alpha, national political science honorary. Presentation will be made at the annual Government Awards Banquet at USD March 27. CSD students to be initiated are Jon Fosheim and Jeff Viken, both of Huron and Ed Gallagher, Redfield. Members of Arnold Air So ciety and Angel Flight at South Dakota State University won six regional awards in competition with societies from seven other colleges and universities at an area convention in Bloomington, Minn. Donald Ruff, Huron, is com mander of the Arnold Air So ciety. Donald Scotter, Huron, Dale Hill, Miller, and Anthony Cle berg and Stuart Dorsey, both Redfield, have been named to the dean’s list for the fall semes ter in the school of business at the University of South Da kota. Five CSD students enrolled in South Dakota State University’s public health nursing lab are assisting with three area coun ty’s public health programs. Those in Brookings County are Linda Buchholz, Hitchcock, and Susan_ Gilkerson Kienholz, Pierre, Judy Fryer Hansen, Huron, and Julie Gilkerson, Pierre, are assisting in Hamlin County. Chris Christensen, Fr. Pierre, is working in Lake County. Sandra Quam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Quam, Huron, has been named historian of Gamma Theta Upsilon, Dakota State College geography club. She is a major in social science Mark Thomas, Sioux Falls, and Al Lorenz, Iroquois, won the Student Association election at South Dakota State Univer sity last week. Thomas, president, and Lo renz, vice president, won 71 per cent of the student vote com pared to 19 per cent and eight per cent for the other two states running. The newly-elected slate of of ficers will take over the student posts in mid-March. Janet Jones, Miller, and Steven Robinson, Pierre, have been named to the dean’s honor list at Yankton College for the fall semester. They are both juniors and have straight A averages.
