RESIDENT 62 YEARS BURIED AT LAWTONThe funeral of John W. Johnson, who died early Thursday morning, was held in the United Brethren church Sunday afternoon, Rev. S. M. Zike officiating.Hock of Ages and Going Down the Valley were sung by Merle Creekmur, George Talbott, Carle* ton Spencer and Mr. Zike. Mrs. Creekmur played the piano accom-^ paniment.Ityrinl was made in the cemetery at Lawton. The pallbearers were W. K McNuughton, F, W. Johnson, Fred Speukman, Ira Abbott, Peter Sorensen and J. C. Larkin.John William Johnson was born at Naperville, 111., September 15* 18(53, and died at Moville, Iowa, February 18, 1932, aged GR years,5 months, 3 days. In 1870 the family left Illinois for Iowa and took up a homestead in the north part of what is now known as Floyd township, Woodbury county.On May 4, 1881, Mr. Johnson and Miss Sarah I. Ladd were united in marriage by the late Rev. Peter Van Norman, pastor of the United Brethren church. Mrs Johnson died August 14, 1931.Surviving are a duughfcer, Grace,* four sons, Fred V. of Verndale, Minn., Verne W. of Lawton, Iowu; Frank K. and Arthur M. of Minneapolis, Minn,, a brother, Philip, of Sioux City; am! a sister, Mrs, Marion Wilier of Grant's Pass, Ore.; ulso three half brothers, Karl, Jess und Seth, and a half sister, Mrs. Gladys Heighmending.
