Petersburg Boy, Relative of Pel?Conrad. Reported Dead Said toBe in England *_Petersburg, Ind., Feb. 22.—A. L. Beeman of Chicago, a former sergeant in the U. S. army who has just been mustered out of service, was here this week, visiting friends. He said | that a month ago while passing through England he passed a hospital train which was detained for a few minutes at a siding. On* the train was a number of wounded United States soldiers. One of the guards asked him where he enlisted from, and he said, Petersburg, Ind. The guard told him that one of the men on | his train which was enroute to a hos-jpital at Pillsbury, England, was from Petersburg that he was slightly deaf and that his name was Ernie Conrad* The guard told him that Conrad. was ■ badly wounded. This is the second returning soldier who claims to have | heard of Conrad in English hospitals, ; since he was officially reported dead by the government last October. The Conrads are again in suspense and another investigation as to whether young Conrad is dead or alive will be made at once.Ernie Conrad referred to in the above dispatch, is a relative of Peb Conrad, superintendent of the American coal mine No. 1 and is well known in this county.* _
