BALL GETS OFF EASY.George Ball, convicted in Canada for the killing of William Long last May, was last week sentenced to serve 22 years, or life imprisonment, as it is at Port Royal. His sentence I us first pronounced was that he be | hanged, but at the urgent request of j the president of the United States, j this was changed and he will now i serve about 22 years, with time off I for good behavior.
