SERIES OF FATALITIES, Death Pursues Three Friends in One Day. Pirrspur RG, Feb. 24.—Death pursued three friends relentlessly yesterday, caus ing a remarkable series of fatalities and casting a gloom over Guthriesville. At noon Jesse Rogers, Postmaster at Guth riesville, while in Westchester, was seized with apoplexy and died an hour later. Frank Elston, a close personal friend of Rogers, who was with him, started on horseback to carry the sad news to Mrs. Rogers. His horse ran off and he was thrown to the ground and fatally injured. Thomas Kirk, a next-door neighbor of Mr. Rogers, went to his stable at noon and hanged himself, the news of the double tragedy so weighed on his mind. Alexander Russell Webb Arrives.
