Betty L. Andrew, 80, of Emmitsburg, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at York Hospital, Pa. She was the wife of George W. Andrew. Born on September 5, 1932, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Annie Lott Cook. Betty enjoyed cooking, flowers, soap operas, blue grass music, watching “I Love Lucy” and “Hee Haw.” She loved her family and her time spent with them. In addition to her hus band, she is survived by her daughter Holly A. Andrew of Gettysburg; grandchildren Sandra L. and Jason A. DeWees; great-grandchil dren Avantae and A-Lynn DeWees; sisters Helen Lock man, Dorothy Kiesling and Mary Wagner; and brothers Buddy and Richard Cook. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Donnie and Bill Cook. Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, PA., 104 East Main Street, Thurmont. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, Pa. The Rev. Jon R. Greenstone will officiate. In lieu of flowers and remembering Betty’s love of animals, contributions in Betty's name may be made to the Frederick County Ani mal Control, 1832 Rosemont Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702.
