‘Creek blows through sectionalsCENTERVILLE — Beavercreek had no trouble winning the Centerville 2 sectional wrestling tournament over the weekend, claiming first place w ith a score of 236.Second place Springboro finished with a score of 184.50. The Beavers qualified a jaw-dropping 11 of 13 wrestlers to next week's district tournament.Jeremy Jones was a winner in the 119 pound division. Gavin Moore in the 135, Travis Johnson in the 171 for Beavercreek.Also qualifying for Beavercreek was Kyle Kramer (3rd, 103), ChrisGlynn (2nd, 125), Zach Schaeffer (3rd, 130), Steve McPherson (3rd, 140), Quenten Pemberton (4th, 145), Dylan Bybee (2nd, 152), Jake Berman (3rd, 160) and Adam Walls (2nd, 285).For Fairborn, which finished sixth at the Centerville 2 sectional, Lee Skinner was the big winner, taking first place in the 215 pound division. Kyle Clevenger (4th, 125), Cody Davis (4th, 130), Dillon Bayard (3rd, 189) all qualified for districts for the Skyhawks.Blake Lucas had Xenia's highest finish in the Centerville 1 sectional.and he was the only wrestler to qualify for the district tournament. The Bucs’ junior finished in third place in the 285 pound division.Xenia sophomore Kyle McMurray finished in sixth place in the 125 pound division, and sophomore Dylan Phiffer also finished sixth in the 140 pound division. Junior Buc Shamus Baker finished sixth in the 215 pound division.In the Division II tournament, Carroll finished fifth and Bellbrook finished sixth at the Eaton sectional.See Wrestling, Page 3B
