Del Rio Improvements Compare Well With Others in Texas ~dohn~—F—McRonett, CWA con struction engineer from CWA head quarters in Austin, was in Del Rio Friday night and Saturday con ferring with city and county offi cials as well as with CWA workers concerning the projects of Val Verde County. McDowell stated that the was very well pleased with the projects Val Verde County has completed. These include the work at the air port and parks, cleaning San Felipe Creek and the graveling of streets. Projects Worth While “Val Verde's projects compare very well with the projects in oth er sections of the State,” McDowell stated. “The work at the airport and along the creek is especially commendable and I dare say your streets are much better for the excellent gravel work done on them through CWA labor. “Few people appreciate the ex tent of the CWA work and what has been accomplished. They hear that such and such a project is be ing done or is completed but they do not realize the extent of the work unless they go and see for themselves. Take Photographs “In Eagle Pass they took pictures of their projects before and after they were undertaken. In this way they have an excellent basis for judging the worth of the work ac complished. Many citizens were surprised when they realized what had been done there, and I am sure the same would hold true in Del Rio, “I am sure you have got a great deal of good that you would other wise not had through the projects of the CWA in this county,” Mc Donell concluded.
