The house on River street, occupie by Mrs. Belle Wilson and family aild Mr. J. E. Ellis and family was burned about 7:40 o’clock Tuesday morning. The fire broke out in a closet in one of the rooms occupied by Mrs. Wilson.Some of the belongings of both families were saved by nearby neighbors. Mrs. Wilson carried no insurance and her losses were heavy, but Mr. Ellis had $300 insurance on his household goods.The hose squad was slow aboutreaching the scene and it looked 11 Ae the adjoining residence occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Max Davis would also burn. But as soon as the water was turned on its safety was assured. Only one stream of water was used and the fire was put out before the house was entirely burned down.The building belonged to Mrs. Ivey and was insured for $1,000.
