Court of any State or Territory, or of the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia, for the space of three years, and shall have maintained a good standing before such Court and be a person of good moral character, shall be permitted to practise before the Supreme Court of the United States. When this bill is passed it will not produce an irruption of female lawyers upon Washington ; for there are only two or three, so tar as it ia known, who have recently been agitating for their44 rights ” in this respect. The most persistent44 female lawyer in Philadelphia, who. managed to keep Courts and Election Boards in hot water for several years by her demands to practise law and vote, continued her agitation until she got married.
