82nd Birthdayis CelebratedThe children of J. C. Windham, Sr., celebrated his 82nd birthday on last Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. K. S. Windham. February 14th was his birthday but it was celebrated on Sunday so that more could be present. Children present were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Windham of Laurel, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Windham of Laurel, Mr. and Mrs. K. S. Williams and J. C. Windham, Jr., of Moss, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Cross and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Welborn were not present. Grandchildren present numbered 16 and two greatgrandchildren were present, Barbara Hilbun and Jimmy Hambriek, of Laurel. Friends present were Mr. and Mrs. A. Blackwell, Mesdames E. M. Welborn and W. Welborn, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Braddcck, Moss, Messrs Millard Welborn, Moss, Thomas Lyons and W. T. Johnson, Laurel. These three men were almost the age of J. C., Sr. They seemed to enjoy the day like they used to in their boyhood days.Dinner was spread on the lawn picnic style on a large table made by K. S. Windham. Plenty of good food was spread. A special table was spread for the older people, Mr. Thomas Lyons, W. T. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. A. Blackwell, Mrs. E. M, Welborn and J. C. Windham, Sr., and Mr. Millard Welborn,A huge white heart-shaped birthday cake centered the table with pink candles and holders. It measured about 14 inches and was baked by Mrs. Bam Windham of Laurel. This cake, was served in the evening about 3 o’clock. It was a beautiful cake and was as good as It was beautiful. It was interesting to see everyone having so much fun and good times. Misses Azaline, Terssie and Willie Mae Blackwell were guests during the afternoon.
