Every one knew every oneelse and pretty nearly every one had a nickname. Though it has lost some ofits frontier aspects, it is still a land of 10,000 nicknames. In most cities the nickname is the exception. In Butte it isClass Irishman. though he never saw Ireland/ Former alderman and legislator Doc Mooney's name was Elias; no one knows the front name of Doc Flynn, whose real name is Flynbaum; Doc Doherty and Doc Cronin, the re-the rule.
