Annie M. Loveland, ftn Kut Lyme Girl. Shoots Herself.The town was shocked last Tuesday afternoon upon hearing of the suicide of Miss Annie M. Loveland, aged 17 vears, residing with her Bister, Mrs. Samual McDonald, at Whistle town, just north of the yillage of Niantic.While the household were at dinner they were startled by the report of a revolver and upon rushing into an adjoining bedroom, were horrified to find Miss Loveland lying on the floov, her right hand still giasping the smoking postol. the bullet of wh'ch had entered the brain just above the right ear. The weapon had been held so close to the bead that the hair was scorched by the powder. Blood flowed profusely from the wound, and death ensued about two hours after the deed was done. The coroner hell an inquest Wednesday. Miss Loveland has figured conspicuously in the Superior Courts of New London County for the past two years and a hair. It was claimed while they lived in Colchester that Albert A. Brown committed a heinous assault upon her and lor biother-in-law shot Broun in the head. McDonald served five months in jail as a penalty. A counter suit was brought against Brown for injury to the girl, etc. A verdict of $3,-000 damage was reudered. Everything of Brown’s was attached to satisfy the judgement. Still another charge was to he ( rought against Brown and he wt}s obliged to leave for parts unknown, and tbtre be has remained since.
