An indictment was brought against Benjamin Shea, of Graham twp, fur perjury. Evidence was before the Grand Jury to the effect that he appealed before the sheriff and asked the officer to taka charge of his wife, declaring that she was insane. It was then 9 o'clock in the evening, and Ibe sheriff suggested that he wait till tomorrow, but Shea refused and said that his wife should be taken charge ot that very night, she wasao dangeioas.Finally the sheriff told him if he [would appear before the clerk according to law and make affidavit that bis wife was insane, be would go. Shea made the affidavit while his own mother and father swear that Mrs. Shea is perfectly sane. With i us evidence before it the Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Shea for perjury, fbe crime of Shea appears more terrible when the fact is known that his wife, at the time was in a delicate condition. Sbea enters a plea of not guilty.
