Saturday , April 11, the 2th annual Beaux Ball will be presented for the community by the Art Association of Jacksonville. The coronation will be at 8:15 at the Jacksonville High School bowl, at which time the new will be presented. Following is the re ception at the Strawn Art Gallery and the Ball will be held, as last year, at the Blackhawk. William Jack Ryan is the master of ceremonies, and Loren Becker is president of the Art Association. Other officers of the Art Association are Mrs. Emily Thomson, first vice president and assistant treasurer; Mrs. Ronald Matthew, second vice president; Mrs. Ruel Becker, sec retary; Mrs. George B. Clark, treasurer. Other board members are: Andrew Applebee, Mrs. Arnold D. Farmer, Mrs. Charles Frank, Mrs. Thomas Grojean, Mrs. John T. Hackett, Mrs. Edward Hop per, Mrs. E. Thomas Long, Jack Lukeman, Mrs. Frank B. Norbury, Dr. Thomas Stevens, Mrs. Leonard G. Ten Eyck, Mrs. Arthur M. Wiles, Mrs. Samuel V. Weller, and Mrs. Joseph C. Cleeland, Honorary Life Director, charm and elegance to the 1981 Arts Ball is William Jack Ryan, the master of cere monies. A native of the Jacksonville area, he attended Routt High School and Springfield College in Illinois. He received a B.A. degree from Sangamon State University in Springfield and has completed hours toward a master's degree from the same school. He is presently a captain with the Illinois State Police assigned as Bureau Chief of Planning and De velopment for the Illinois Depart ment of Law Enforcement. He joined the Illinois State Police in 1957 and was a member of the U.S. Army reserves from 1959 to 1965. He has attended an extensive number of professional courses including the Northwestern University Traf fic Police Administration Training ram . he has held various posts with the Illinois State Police includ ing Education and Information Officer, 1962-66; Director of Plan ning and Research Section, 1972; and Director of Training at the Illi nois State Police Academy, 1974. He has taught various classes for the Northwestern University Traffic Institute Field Division Police Su pervision Courses from 1970 to pre sent He is married to the former Carole Ann McNamara, who is associate professor of French at Illinois College.
