Johnson’ was’ the as sisting hostess. Mrs. ‘Philip Thom: te gave the history of the Febru ary hymn of the month and Mrs. Thomte: and Mrs. John O. Gilbert son sang the hymn as a ‘duet, ac companied by Mrs. H. M. Johnson. Mrs. Lester .Brennam who was in charge of the evening's pro gram, based her topic on “Amer ican Folk Lore” , ‘taken from the book by John. A. Lomax. To il lustrate: each of ten: ‘divisions, club members sang folk ‘songs, accom panied ‘at the piano, by Mrs. Berg er Lund. Mrs. Richard’ Holtan played on ‘the accordion, A trio, Miss Stella Windjue and the Mmnes. J.. V. Maldonado, and Willie A. Johnson, sang. Miss Anne Holtan, a guest, talked on her trip to Eur ope. last ‘summer ‘while touring with the St. Olaf College Choir. The March meeting will be held with Mrs. Ralph Rasmuson. ELKS LADIES: DINNER About’ 60. attended the Elks Lad ies dinner’ at the Elks Club Tues day evening. Prizes at cards. after the dinner went to Mrs. Richard Lang, Mrs. H. W. Langenberg and Mrs. Jay Mertes in “bridge; Mrs. Roy” Lassen and Mrs. Frank Malewicki in 500;: Miss. ‘Christine Hanson’ in canasta ‘and Mrs. ‘Min nie Dahm. in schafskopf.
