Negress Hoop Quint cSubdues Merchants eby Novel TacticsLast Friday eve some cullud mademoiselles who hail from east of the Mississippi wandered into town, onto the Carroll gym floor, and over the Helena Merchants hoop squad to the tune of 26 to 25, with the assistance of the referee, the time-keeper, and their own book of rules.The ladies travel under the name of the Roamer Girls, and feature such attractions as “Streamline” Smith, the ' many foot center, “Dazzling” Daisy Davis, and a collection of tricks which discomfort the opposition and delight the audience.Other features of the contest were an interpretive dance of rare grace, “Chasing Raindrops,” by Daniel Mc-Gonigle; and a demonstration of man’s ability to stop the course of time, by the timer, J. Bruce Plummer.
