M0LL1E BROWN’S DEATH RESULT OF CHOKINGMolly Brown, whose real name is Myra Schmidt, died by being strangled or chocked to death by a person or persons unknown to the jury, was the verdict reached by the coroner’s jury at Juneau to determine the cause of the woman’s death.Bloody finger marks upon a towel indicated that the murderer might have chocked the woman to death by pushing his fore-finger, covered with the towel, down her throat.A close examination of the room disclosed the fact that the bed had been made, and that glass in the windows “had been smashed and the screen door damaged. It was said that there were Indications that the woman had been first struck on the head before being strangled, as there were two small marks on her face, one on her chin and the other on the side of the jaw.Molly Brown, about 22 years old, went to Juneau about six weeks ago from Seattle. Last summer and in the early part of July she was in Cordova. Apparently she did not have any intimate friends in Juneau. The cabin in which she resided is by itself beloJt the sawmill.
