News of his death came Wednesday in letters from his brother-in-law, Ben Llchtenberg, to Frank Jensen and Postmaster Kirby. Mr. Jensen and Mf. Baokley had been warm personal friends for many years. A boat two months ago, in Seafble, when he believed himself to be in good healtn and was planning to return to work the following morning at his trade as a steamboat engineer, Mr. Baokley wai stricken suddenly with hemorrhages of the longs. He suffered many such hemmorrhagee and was soon In suoh a weak condition that little hope was entertained of his recovery. As soon as possible his father, who was for two terms cbairmau of tbe board if ooanty commissioners of this ooanty, left with him for tbe South and stayed with him there until the end. It was Ed’s wish that he be buried in the Valley cemetery htire beside his brother Jack, who died a few years ago, a victim also of Tung trouble. When the Islander went to press it was not known just when the funeral would take place but it is thought probable that it will be held next Monday.Mr. Buckley resided iu this ooanty for many years, living with his parents in their fine home at Kanaka bay. He liked tbe water and a number of years ago began firing on a steamboat, in course of time becoming an engineer. He was a fine young man and very popular with all who knew him. Besides his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Olough and Mrs. Ben Licbtenberg, both residing in Seattle, survive him.
