The supposition is, that Jordan, “throwing open” his engine, thus giving it full stroke and every ounce of steam, leaned over on his box, and while the train labored up the grade, /ell asleep—his fireman having been left in town when the first section was pulled in-—after reaching the brow of the hill, a down grade of more than a mile follows, over which, with the train’s momentum, and the full pressure of steam, the engine rushed with terrific velocity—the engineer still asleep.Some One should be held ac-*countable for young Steinhagen’s death; Who is it ?
