EASTON — The Planning anal Zoning commission has granted an application to Lawrence Wien of Weston for a special exception Under The zoning regulationsor permit the construction and op eration of a private golf club on property along Black Rock turn ik pike, Frederick A. Strong, chairman of the commission, said today that the permit has been granted, subject to several restrictions. The effective place of the permit is Wesdnesday. The club will be built on 242 acres of land off Black Rock tunpike, including 198 acres on Jump Hill, property owned by Toan C. Sartorius, and 47 acres, currently oun by the Bridge port hydraulic company, all on the west side of the turnpike. Tt Will be limited to a club for dues paying, members and their Ransis and will not be open to the public. The owners will be required to marke suitable pro visions for entering and leaving the premises and they will be expected to property landscape the area. Other restrictions are as fol lows: No alcoholic beverages shall be sold; no public use for hire or otherwise; no more than 400 members, of all classes; suitable stop signs at the access road to Black Rock turnpike; mainten ance of adequate and suitable, screening for protection of ad joining property owners. Mr. Strang also said that this grant is to the present organizers only and does not pass as a matter of right to any successor Two public hearings have been conducted by the commission an d this application. At each hear ing, two adjoining neighbors ex pressed opposition, but other per sons in the town expressed ap proval of the development of such a large tract of land. First Selectman William J. Pal litt indicated that there would be a saving to the town since nt homes would be erected on this tract of land, and no expense would be added to the edus budget.
