Tuesday. February 21, 1928FAT EMMAS TOO MUCH FOR COLLEGE QUINTETFat Emmas, noted professional basketball team of Minneapolis, took the measure of Lavik’s Flagstaff Teachers Wednesday night, 40 to 22.Lavik’s lads appeared scared and did not get going until about half of the first quarter had ended. The Fat Emmas, with careful passing and brilliant shooting, proved a real aggrega-lege stars. The Lumberjacks first five were in the game only during the first half and if the game could have ended in that period it probably could have stood on the boards as a real battle. The score at the half was 16 to 13 in favor of the visitors.Tne professionals were first to score with a long shot from the center of the court. Bat Allen, Lumberjack guard, left his post long enough to get in a fielder under thfr basket after the ball had come down the floor via Gove Allen and Ike Zan-er. The score at the quarter was 13 to 9 with the Minneapolis quint leading. In the second quarter Pace, center, broke into the limelight when he sunk a basket through the mesh from under the goal. The second half, with Lavik’s second string men in the line-up, was a complete walkaway for the invaders. The scrubs did not score a point against the professionals until late in the fourth quarter when they made a vain attempt to pile up the score. The feature of the game was the burlesque performance put On by the Chain Gang of the College. Not only did they make mirth and merry among the crowd but acted in ^ie capacity of policemen. All the Town-jacks were ordered on the north side of the gym as well as were the College bunph, who were sitting on the south side and then it was discovered that Frank Gold was still sitting between two beautiful girls on the south side of the building. The Chain Gang, after asking Frank several times to come out of his dreams, carried him bodily to the Towniack section.La vile entered Zaner, Pace, Gove and Bat Allen and Wilson in the first half against the Fat Emmas, and Det-loff, Kieren, Schlansky, Cooper and Brimhall in the second half.Voltmer’s freshmen cleaned up the floor with the quint from Williams, sending them home with a 56 to 7 cqffliL______
