Tlmre have been times, a week in length when I just couldn’t find time * * though 1 tried. We are to play for a dance tonight ; * : given by the soldiers in honor of the citizens of this village. 1 don’t know , what all the Y will have for refresh- 1 ipents but one thing I do know and ; that is that there will be ice-cream. *: Think of it! And the soldiers are go- c ing to make it themselves/That reminds me of the cost of lt;milk here. A litre which is a trifle ; mere than a quart costs three francs in our money about sixty cents. They have estimated that the dance will cost around $500. We (the band) play gratis—because we have too. See.There is a huge castle here which was used for Officers Mess and Regimental Headquarters. That room was used as the consulting room of the Kaiser and his staff and is now our regimental ' headquarters. How’s dad and his business. Hope you are all in the best of health.Love to all the family,Cor’p Isadore Friedman Band Gist Infantry American i E. F. France. j
