EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENTWan That Given by the Beulah Buck Quartet in the High School Auditorium Ilt;iiHt Evening:—Greatly Pleased Largo Audience.One of the beat numbers of the 1916-17 lyceuni lecture course was heard In the High School auditorium last evening when the Beulah Buck Quartet Co. gave an entertainment lasting for about an hour and a half.The program of the evening throughout was replete with splendid musical selections and at no time was there a lull in the Entertainment. The program na published was followed almost exactly.The personnel of the quartet was as follows: Beulah Buck, Header andsecond soprano; Helen Wait, accompanist and first soprano; Isabel Willey, assistant accomapnlst and second contralto; Wilma Whitacre, first contralto.The singing of Miss Willey, second contralto, was the main attraction of the evening. Her work was excellent, her voice being a very deep contralto, so deep, that at times it resembled bass. Seldom if ever has such a splendid singer been heard here.Miss Walt, the accompanist and first soprano, also made quite an impression with the audience. Her work was brilliant.Miss Whitacre did not appear as a soloist but in all of the quartet numbers her rich contralto voice could be clearly heard. She took a very important part in the sketch, “Now and Then”, given by the entire company as a closing number.Mrs. Buck, the manager of the company, gave some excellent readings, all of which were greatly enjoyed by the audience.Tonight the operetta “Pocahontas” will be given by the Glee Club of the High School.
