Cortner died at his home in Atchineon county, Mo., two weeks ago today, held 58 years, leaving a wife and two children. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. FP. M. Carr, wife of Dr. Carr of New Market, and uncle of Cir cuit Clerk Frank Carr, of Jeffersonville, and M. W. Carr, of Charlestown. He moved to Missouri over thirty years ago, and had a nice made that Blate hie home. The immediate cause of hie death was blood powering induced by the breaking of a wen with which hie ‘had been afflicted for forty years. GEoRgE W. HUFFSTETTER, 8h: George W. Huffetetter, or, one of the prominent farmers of Owen township, died at his home near Vestala at Friday, February 1th, 1902. The deceased was born in Owen town smp, December 22d, 1830, and was the only son of Jacob and Hannah Halfatet ter. In 1858 he married: Mia Stellatus A. Bowen, and at this marriage were born eight children, four rene and four daughters, all of whom, except two daughters, curgive. The wifl of the de ceased, who was stricken with pneumo nia some time before the death of her husband, 18 very il, but hope is enter tertained of her recovery. The surviv ing chiidren are David H. Huffetetter, of Charlestown; George. W., Jr.; and’ Harry B. Hufstetter, of Owen town, ship; Carl,a student in the Charles town high school, and Mra. Grace’ Beardsley and Mrs. Stella Rose, Mrs. Ann Wright, of Champaign, Ill, of a later of the deceased, also survives. In early life George W. Hufletetter united with the Christian church at Hi bernia, and later changed his member ship to Olive Branch, and in the little cemetery of the last named church his mortal remains were laid to reat Jaat. Saturday, amid the scenes he had long loved so well, being followed to the grave by many affectionate neighbors and friends and loving relatives. The deceaeed was known as a devoted husband, a noble hearted father and a generous, kind neighbor. No one ever asked a favor at hug hands that was not granted when it lay within his power, and he would suffer inconvenience him self rather then see a neighbor or friend disappointed when a favor was sought ‘trouble. “ Clark county had lost an excellent catizon, the church, a worthy, devoted follower, and the family a great-hearted guide whose place can never be Giled. She was married to John Roger March 8, 1853. She with her husband at once moved to Jefferson county, Iowa, where they lived for four years when they moved to Marion county, Iowa, residing there until the spring of 1886, when they moved to Rooks county, Kansas, settling near Plainville Her husband, John Royer, died July 14, 1884, since which time she had made her home with her son, L. E. Royer. The deceased was the mother of five children two of whom have preceded her to the world beyond. The three remaining are M.H. Royer, Mo. Val ley, Iowa, Mrs. C. F. Prosser and I. E.
