Emil Pekholz, 1724 W. 89th st., recently was guest of honor at a birthday party tendered him by members of his family. Kinney Woodruff, 1043 W. 97th st., is four years old, but he has had an unhappy two weeks, for a severe cold spoiled his plans for outdoor play. Wednesday afternoon the Ladies and society of the Evangelical church, 100th and Throop sts., will meet in the social hall for their February meeting. Donald Thomas O‘Hara was guest of honor at a Valentine party given for him by his mother, Mrs. D. T. O’Hara, 8138 Peoria st., and which 16 of his playmates attended. It was a foursome last Saturday afternoon when Mrs. Guy Logan, 8808 Winchester ave., invited three friends to join her at an afternoon luncheon and a game of cards. Mrs. Mary Krauter, 9407 Throop st. accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. George Ernst, 8727 Sangamon st., spent the weekend at Mt. Prospect, Tr. Mrs. June Hauber, of Elwood, Ind., is a house guest of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Huebner, 9125 Hoyne ave. She will remain until March 1. Mrs. Anna Wagner, 7738 Bishop st. is recovering from a double fracture of the right arm, incurred three weeks ago, when she slipped and fell on the icy pavement in front of her home. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Krumdick and their family, 9210 Adast. ac companied by Fred Krumdick, 7657 Eggleston ave., will leave tomorrow for a four-week tour through scenic “Old Mexico.” Mrs. Katherine O’Connor, 9630 Racine ave., president of Western Union unit, American Legion, will preside at the monthly meeting to be held on February 28 in the Gage park field house, 55th st. and West ern ave. Mr. and Mrs. William A. Barlow, 916 W, 85th st, entertained mem bers of the Adult Sunday school class of the Seventh Presbyterian church, 86th pl. and Sangamon st., at a party in their home last Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tilling, 1115 W. 94th st., will entertain six friends tomorrow evening, including Mr. and Mrs. James Rudd, 1119 W. 94th st.; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Hester, 1113 W. 94th st. and Mr. and Mrs. John Hutchinson, 554 E, 88th st. Barbara Huehner, 9125 Hoyne ave., who will be among the first of the Spring brides was recently given showers by Mrs. Merle Albro, 8240 Bishop st.; Harriett Wilson, 9802 Seeley ave. assisted by Maxine Wyant, 9607 Seeley ave.; Adele Clithero, 9031 Leavitt st, and Mil dred Heinemann, 9547 Longwood dr. Shirley Skrivan, 9914 Aberdeen and Mrs. William Skrivan, received a permanent wave as a Valentine gift from her parents. Last Tues day evening, she was on the pro gram in the Emerald Avenue Pres byterian church, given by one of the philanthropic circles. Her aunt, Grace Corey, 6704 Emerald ave., was chairman of the party. Tomorrow afternoon, Mrs. Geneva Wright, 11710 Hale ave., will hold an informal party for Mrs. James Rudd, Jr., 1119 W. 94th st.; Mrs. Rudolph Slager, 11406 Eggleston ave.; Mrs. Albert Tilling, 1115 W. 94th st.; Mrs. Steven Hester, 1113 W. 94th st.; Mrs. Joseph Earling, 7259 Emerald ave.; Mrs. Frank McCauley, 9013 Halsted st., and Mrs. Thomas Nicholson, 11710 Hale ave. They have been friends for 25 years and have mutual interests in the educational and civic affairs of the community. Once a year these four meet and exchange con fidences. Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Mary Boylan, 1759 W. 94th st.; Elizabeth McBurney, 9740 Walden pkwy., and Mrs. Ruth Cole, 515 W. 103rd st., joined Mrs. Armour Arm strong, 10826 Church st., at lunch eon and a Visiting “bee.” Mrs. William Edelman, 7618 Pau lina st., entertained members of her “300” club Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Fred Abner, 8637 May st., president of the St. Kilian Altar and Rosary society, was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party held in the church Tuesday night. About 70 guests attended the party and a wristwatch was presented to Mrs. Abner by the guests assembled. A large decorated birthday cake holding two candles was made by Mrs. Arthur Keegen, 8541 May st., social chairman of the group, and decorations were in red and white. The Equestrianne club of the Calumet high school held its first meeting of the year yesterday. An election of officers took place, Jewel Minnick, 8223 Green sr., becoming the club’s president. Joanne Irwin, 8052 Eberhardt, ave., was elected vice-president, and Shirley Clark, 7801 Michigan ave., will assume the duties of secretary-treasurer. An entertainment committeee was ap pointed, including Harriet Swanson, 7606 Lowe ave.; Beverly Thrall, 8240 Green st., and Lorraine Curtin, 8019 Carpenter st. Mrs. Nellie Meyer of Sauganash, Il, past worthy grand matron of Illinois Order of Eastern Star, en tertained former friends, who were members of her official staff at 1 o'clock luncheon, last Wednesday. Mable O’Gorman, 8619 Wolcott ave., recently entertained some of her classmates of the St. Ethel Reta school, at a Valentine party in her home. At this time Miss O’Gorman also celebrated her 14th birthday anniversary. To celebrate his 16th birthday on Valentine day, Donald Benes, 9344 Ada st., entertained at an evening party in his home, with Mrs. Frank Benes, his mother, as assisting hos tess.
