$50,000 Inn ForCedar Lake To BeBuilt This Spring[SPECIAL TO THE TIHESJCEDAR LAKE, Ind., Feb. 20.—Tile folks who make Cedar Lake their headquarters during the summer months will welcome an added attraction to the many tine resortsalong the shore, A new $50,000*inn, one,of the finest on the lake, is well under construction and will beready for use early in the season.A Chicago real estate firm is backing the project, which is the llrst of this size to be launched on the west side of the lake for many years.The site for the inn was purchased at a consideration of about $10,000. The new structure will be about 100 feet square with a ball room, 50 by 100 feet, no posts being used which would be In the way of dancers. There will also be a roof garden. A rock well is being drilled and excavation for the1—itpmm | —building is well started.Many other improvements at the popular resort will make it even more attractive to pleasure seekers this summer. The golf course is being enlarged and improved, nineholes being added to the original nine. Plans are completed for a modern 52-room hotel to be built near the new inn, Several newpiers of large size have been built during the winter months. New subdivisions are being laid out and cottages have been under construction all winter.A large number of Calumet region people than ever are buying or building summer and year-around homes on the lake, and many have been commuting dally or weekends as far as Whiting and Ford City. The lake gives promise o!the most successful season of Us history this year.
