Chicago, ] died after a brief illness on February j 6, in the sixty-sfxth year of hit age. lt;His brother, Rev. Michael P. Dowling,S. J., President of Rockhurst College, Kansas City, Mo., died on February 13, In the sixty-fourth year of his age.They were born in Cleveland, Ohio, and entered the Jesuit novitiate at Florissant, Mo. Both spent many years in educational work. Father James was Vice President of Creighton University, Omaha, from 1881 to 1883. Father Michael was Rector of the Bame Institution from 1885 to 1889 and again from 1899 to 1908. The latter was also pastor of the Holy Family Church In Chicago, from 1894 to 1897, and his brother was a member of the pastoral staff of this church at the time of his death.
