And naturally all of the hue-bands present opened up on tbeir wives with a line of argument against, equal suffrage. The wives oaturnll * hod to meet the argument. Hence the wide discussion or the subject. The addresses that aroused auch wide comment were given by Mrs, J. M. Fisk and Mrs, J. W. Kern, the former arguing for suffrage; the latte against It. Both women are deep thinkers on current topics, accomplished and able to express tbeir opinions in a forcible manner.
