A Woman Charged With Murder. The Keyser who says: “On fri day last a couple of officers from Greens ville, Ohio, appeared in this place and made complaint against Mrs. Caroline Rhodes, who lives on Patterson's Creek, charging her with the murder of an old man named Blizzard, in Ohio, some two or three weeks since. Constables John Ar nold and L. O Davis immediately pro ceeded to serve the warrant, and finding her at the house of her husband, arrested her and lodged her in jail. She agreed to go with the Ohio officers without a requisi tion from the Governor, and left in their custody on Saturday. Mrs. Rhodes was born on Patterson's Creek, and her maiden name was Millslagle. Some twelve years ago she was married to a Mr. Rhodes, from Ohio, we are informed. About two years ago they made a visit among her friends on the Creek, and Mr. Rhodes bought a farm of Wm. Leese. He re paived on the farm and she went back to Ohio to dispose of their property in that locality. At the expiration of about a year she came back, reporting that the property was sold, but in a week or two she learned that the party who had bargained for the property had backed out, and she returned to Ohio to look after the matter. She did not return to these parts, as we are inform ed, until two or three weeks ago. The of ficers say that the old man 8Bzzard had been to the habit of visiting the house of Mrs. R.,and that they had been seen rid ing together. The last time he was seen alive she went to his house with a horse and buggy, and he got in with her, and they rode away. [He was never again seen alive, but his body was found in a lonely place, in a creek, with a bullet hole in his head, and a considerable number of wounds upon his head, apparently made with a hatchet, or some similar weapon. Immedi ately after this occurrence, she left Ohio, and apparently came directly to this place. These are the facts as well as we can ascer ¢e to them at the present time. We trust that the circumstances which seem so agaist Mrs. K. may be found to be capable of an explanation consistent with her innocence. We understand that her relatives to this section are respectable and well weaving people.
