The stack finally toppled, lodging on power wires and leaving residencesin the district dark last night. lt;»- -PALIS OVER WIRES FOR ACHES, PAINSSteel Cylinder at Railroad Power House Col-laosesLTHEAT TREATMENTNurse Gives Some Suggestions on Proper Use of Hot Water BottleResidents in the vicinity of Pulton Street and Seventh Avenue were without house lights last night as a repair crew of the New York Power and Light Corp. were engaged in making repairs to wires after the huge stack on the top of the power plant for the Troy Union Station in Fulton Street fell and hung suspended on the wires.The stack wobbled to such an extent under pressure of the heavy wind yeeterday afternoon that railroad officials called on police to | rope off the street in that section to prevent injury to passers-by should it fall. Early last night approximately half of the stack, measuring about two feet in diameter, toppled over and rested suspended on the power wires One wire was broken.A repair crew from the railroad was also sent to the scene and preparations were started immediately to remove the stack.The Railroad Y. M. C. A. In Broadway was thrown into darkness and as a result the bowling program scheduled for last night was called off.
