Matthew R. McArthurMatthew R. McArthur, a 29-year resident of University Park, formerly of Park Forest and North Carolina, died Friday, Feb. 12, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.A service was Wednesday at Lain Sullivan Chapel, Park Forest, with the Rev. C. Kay Turney of Wheatland-Salem United Methodist Church officiating.Mr. McArthur was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Chicago. He was alabor and employee benefits attorney; a member and senior warden of Crete Masonic Lodge 673; Medinah Temple AAONMS;board of directors of Investment Managers Consultant Association OR IMCAWEB, West Suburban Chapter; Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Knox College and Duke University Law School where he graduated in 1967; Boy Scout leader of Troop 168 in University Park; past commissioner of Police and Fire Departments in University Park; and a host father for 10 foreign exchange students.He is survived by his wife, Susan (nee Brinkman); three sons, Donald (Kim) of Aurora, David (Holly) of Louisville, Ky. and Douglas (Sherri) of DeKalb; and one grandchild.
