The residents of Riverside Park held their regular monthly meeting on the first Monday of the month. The meeting began with a prayer. Plans were made for a “pot luck” dinner in March. Following the meeting, re freshments were served. A group of elderly people enjoyed a shopping trip to Elmira last week. A meeting of the chairmen of the ‘Tri-Parish picnic was held on Thurs day evening at St. Mary’s hall. The annual picnic’ celebration will be held on July 12, ‘on the church grounds in Morris Run. The celebra tion will begin with a Polka Mass, fol lowed by food, games and dancing to the music of Happy Louie, The Penn sylvania Merrymakers, and the Joey Augustine Polka Bands. . Ambulance Report Robert Scheerer, Blossburg Ambu lance Chief, presented the following report at the monthly meeting: for the month of January there were 33 responses (27 emergencies, 6 rou tine) for a total of 1,436 miles. The rescue truck made 6 responses. The Jaws of Life was used once. Special Breen cross patches from the Hurst Co. were awarded to Kevin Lind quist, Rick Stanley and Gene Drink with in recognition of their use of the Jaws of Life in an actual live extri cation of a victim at the stone of a motor vehicle accident. Blossburg elementary school “Writers of the Week for Feb. 9 and Feb. 16 are: Kimberly Hays, 4th grade; Dean Morgan, 5th grade; and Michelle Roupp, 6th grade. Legion Notes - Post 167 - Morris Run The American Legion Post in Mor ris Run is interested in forming a Women’s Auxiliary of the Post. Applications for interested women are available at the Post Home in Morris Run. The Post is willing to sponsor a boy interested in participating in a pro gram at the State Police Academy in Hershey for the week of July 14-18. The applicant must be a current member of the Junior class in high school.
