and about halfway to the ship/W..Lowe Tells Of ElectionQualifications for voters in Saturday’s school consolidation elections were outlined Monday by Scott D. Lowe, county superintendent of schools, who pointed out voters must be qualified in the district in which they vote, and fill af least one of three other qualifications. They were listed as: 1—be a parent or guardian of a person 21 years of age; 2—be a taxpayer in the district in which they vote; or 3—be a husband or wife of a taxpayer in the district.Mr. Lowe pointed out that election is to determine only if districts are to be reorganized, not to determine location of buildings, or when new buildings, if any, are to be constructed. Voters in the districts merely will vote “yes” or “no” on the question, he said.Questions to be voted on at the elections include whether Pocatello Independent district No. 1 shall be consolidated with Inkom Independent District 46 and Portneuf common school districts to form Class A District No. 1; whether independent district 16, Arimo; 24, McCammon, 30, Lava Hot Springs, and 53, Downey, shall be consolidated with common districts 3, Swan Lake; 5, Robin; 39, Hawkins Basin; and 45, Virginia, to form Class A district 2, Marsh Valley, and whether Bannock county independent district No. 51 shall be reorganized to form Class B district No. 1.
