A most enjoyable surprise and ““tuckey’’ party was planned by Mrs. F.W.Fritz and Miss Margaret Norcop last Thursday evening. The jolly crowd were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith at there home, ‘‘River Side Cot tage.’’Music and most interesting stories were the features of the evening. At a late hour a table of delicious food were awaiting the friends in the beautiful dinning room, friends invited were—Mr. and Mrs. Calvo Lee, Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Fritz, Mr. and Mrs .Geo.Iler, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Taylor, Misses Eu genia Cox, Thelma and Lola Hun nicutt, Miss Margaret Norcop and Mr. Wesley Turpin. Mrs. C.D. Hughes took the prize,as ‘A Lit tle Country Girl.’’ Mrs. William Iler entertained in honor of Miss Eugenia Cox of West Point, last Monday,to‘‘A Spend The Day Party,’’ which was enjoyed by all. Mr.and Mrs.C.D. Hughes gave a Valentie Dance Wednesday evening at their beautiful home on Spring Street. The dancing ball was given to the jolly friends, who danced until midnight. The rooms were decorated with Val entines. Mrs.Hughes received her guest in a most becoming gown, of black silk, trimmings of cream silk lace. Friends invited were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Mr. and Mrs. George Iler, Mr. and Mrs. F. W Fritz, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cun ningham, Mr. and Mrs. George Cromley, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Worley, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Ha den, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Calvo Lee, Dr. and Mrs. Norcop, Mrs. Frank War nock, Mr. and Mrs. William Iler. Misses Lela Hunnicutt, Eu genia Cox, Thelma Hunnicutt, Margaret Norcop, Roberta, and Agnes Taylor. Messrs. Wesley Turpen, Frank Warrock, Edd, Long, Guy Raulston, Mrs. Hughes, Misses. Thelma Hunniecutt and Roberta Taylor most gracefully served delicious refreshments. The dance was a most enjoyable one,and the beau tiful songs sung by Mesdames Geosler and Calve Lee, Mrs. Rade Scruggs, visited friends and relatives in and a round Clayton last week. Mr.Henry L.Tomas, of Toccoa, was in Clayton the latter part of the week on business. Misses Ethel, and Varrie Ritchie of Dillard, who are teaching school on Warwoman, were in town Saturday. My Joseph Neville,and daugh ter, Miss Lucy, of Rabun Gap were in the city Saturday. Misses Lela, Lora,Mattie and Mr s.G. Bleckley are spending a few days at East Clayton, with Mrs Logan E. Bleckley.
