The street car service.in the City of Cedar Falls still continues to, be disorganized on account of side trips to Oak Ridge. We present herewith an accurate statement of the travel on our Oak Ridge cars from February 3rd to February ! 6th,. v. ■ ■ •• / ; . 1 •. 'inclusive. *\s,--Ks_0»lrV*v-x—aI'is'• I. ■»-I•;• a -: !!HFor some “UNKNOWN REASON” (?) we have carried more passengers to and from Oak Ridge in these fourteen days than we have ever carried, with similar service, in twice the length of.'time. , Here is the list—-Our cars ran over the line between Treirtont Street and Oak Ridge during the period mentioned, seventy-eight times, and carried a total of fifty-one passengers. On these Oak Ridge trips, while we were carrying the fifty-one passengers, we took 1 26 other passengers directly out of their way more than a mile, andi delayed thfe other service thereby,-Jo the detriment-and annoyanceof an unknown number of other passengers. Is this reasonable or-rational in any degree? . '• • ' 4- We are trying to give the City of Cedar Falls the very best of street car service, but we cannot succeed in improving the service without assistance and co-operation from the City Council and everybody concerned. Because we are a Public Sei vice Company is no good reason why the City should make it difficult—yes, impossible—fox us to meet the needs of a majority of the Citizens. - If the good of a majority of the Citizens of Cedar Falls is not to control in matters such as this, then the old axiom of “the greatest good for the greatest number” is repudiated, and the very foundation of our whole governmental structure is errpi. We have not heard from the Street Railway Committee to whom our request fora submission of this, matter to the voters• . i • • • ^ *was referred in the last Council meeting more than a week past.
