Fei'dinand Carroll Called Home.Ferdinand Carroll was born in Erie county, Pa., March 23, 1819, and died at his home in Sumner, Iowa, Feb. 14, 1904. had he lived till the 23rd of next month he would have reached the age of 85 years. In 1846 he waB married to Lorinea Tomphson who died July 22, 1884, leaving five sons and one daughter, Richard M., of Westgate; ClintonD., Wilbur E., Leonard A., Sidney L., and Mrs. Henrietta Green, all of Sumner. In 1885 he was married to Mrs, Eliza Noendorf who survives him. He was converted and united with the M.E. chnrch in Pennsylvania. He sustained this relation to the church all his life. He moved to Sumner in 1875. The faith of his early age did not wax dim with age, nor were the last weeks without the assurance that cometh from God. In conversation with him we found him firm in the faith and rejoicing in the prospects of immortality. But a few hours before his departure he assured us of his faith in Christ.
