YOUNG,Mrs. Anna Young was born at Alcester, near Birmingham, England. Aug. 18,1823, and was married to Wm, W. Smith, an engraver. They emigrated to this country about the year 1838, first residing in New York City, when she embraced religion about 1840 and united with the Presbyterian church of which Dr. Rheinheart was the successful pastor for upwards of half a century.In the year 1855 they came to Iowa. She was a member of the Congregational church at Colesburg. Her husband dying left her a widow in 187s.In 1877, Oct. 10th she became the wife of Rev. \V, Young, of the upper conference. She then became a member of the M, E church which relation she sustained until the time of her decease. She was a woman of very fine and nervous sensibilities,, hating things mean and unrefined and loving virtue and goodness. She was of a retiring habit of few words, believing in manifesting her religion by living* life of visible, consistent, piety, She loved to attend church services, sometimes going when scarcely able, and the Bihit was her daily companion, reading it every day with so much intevest and profit. Her health has been very poor for years past, but she looked at the bright side and was generally cheerful.
