A (leart'ftandlKiff Calamity,A terrible tale of death reaches os from Sangamon county. On last Thursday afternoon Mr. John T. Ingels and family, consisting of a wife and two .tnldren the latter aged respectfully ten and two years, started from their homo near BateB to visit relatives a few miles distant. The details of the affair are thus told by the Stain Ila/iutcr:“They were in a two horse wagon, and had to cross ilpring creek, m the vicinity of the Morgan school house. After crossing the bridge, and whileon the embankment, their wagon wascapsized and they were all percipitat ed into the water which was rushing over the entire bottom, and carried under an ice flow. Of what then occurred and of the unavailing struggles of the helpless family, we are not advised, and indeed we may nev or know. Some limo afterwards Messrs. William Beertip and John Shumate, who went into a field in the vicinity to look after some shock corn, discovered I he bodies lying aroimd at different points in the water. Mrs Ingels and the two children wore quite dead, and Mr. Ingela was so nearly gone that he did not recover consciousness for about five Lours afterwards. Yesterday morning he was reported somewhat better, but at last accounts bad not been informed of the terrible fate that overtook his wife and children.”
