With neither booming chords nor accompanist, he thoroughly entertained and ’initiated at least some of us into the beauty of the classical^ guitar. Histechnique involved a delicate and pre-cise touch, his material control. Much of the-program had a sootjnaquality due perhaps to the inJgaeatechaJaeterof the music which begged for a small audience in a candle-lit^ room.In a well-chosen program, there were two especially pleasing selections: the Villa-Lobos. and Granados pieces. In the Preludes and Etudes, he thoroughly demonstrated his skill as* a guitarist with taxing choices. La Maja He Goya and Spanish Dance No.5 combined, the flavor ^of Spanish music with the ability and beauty which had been exhibited throughout.The performance was well-attended and well-received.
