Decision to accept the offer of the United States of giving trees to legion posts throughout the United States for memorial and beautification purposes was reached by the executive committee of the Val Verde American Legion Post No. 23 at its Monday night meet ing. The trees, when received, will be put out in Moore's Park Each tree will be named in memorial to Del Rio soldiers who lost their lives during the World War, it was announced Tuesday by Art Kramer. Executives of the post Tuesday started checking up the list of Val Verde County soldiers who lost their lives in the World War and will order trees accordingly, it was explained. Plans for the Washington's Birth day party to be sponsored by the Legion Auxiliary will be taken up at a later date, it was stated. Many items of importance to the local post were shelved until the next regular meeting date, which falls on February 26.
